Starting Tuesday, June 12, museum Members and visitors may enjoy the traditions of English and Japanese tea service alongside extraordinary art collections at the MFAH, as part of the new summer series "Tuesday Tea + Tour."

On eight consecutive Tuesdays—June 12 to July 31, at 3 p.m.—guests are invited to experience the traditions of tea in two themed offerings, one corresponding to the exhibition Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London and the other relating to the exhibitionUnrivalled Splendor: The Kimiko and John Powers Collection of Japanese Art.

Each seating for tea service requires a ticket and is accompanied by an assortment of beverages as well as savory and sweet treats and a 20-minute, docent-led highlights tour of the featured exhibition, starting every half hour from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tea service is led by the only Certified Tea Master in Texas: Thia McKann from Houston´s The Path of Tea, exclusive tea partner for these events. The exquisite settings for "Tuesday Tea + Tour" at the MFAH are provided by Aztec Events & Tents along with floral partner Jonathan Andrew Sage.
