The BoHo trend has been with us for awhile but is the kind of fashion idea that has so many interpretations from the Runways to the Street?! What I’ve been seeing a lot of around town these
days is textured embroideries. These are not the sweet embroideries that your granny used to stitch, but bold, ethnic-inspired florals that being interpreted on Jackets, Denim, Blouses and Accessories.
The jacket shown is at hila. …….where we found some of the best out there in her shop on Greenbriar. These jackets range in price from an affordable $85 to $158.

Well, we found so much great fashion stuff on a recent re-visit to Muse Boutique in the Centre at River Oaks on West Alabama here in Houston, that we just had to share it!
Shown here from Cleobella at $165, this laser-cut leather clutch, available in great metallic and pop colors that opens up to a great organizer bag complete with slots for credit cards, ID, green bucks and a zipper pouch for just enough beauty necessities. Yes, it’s a fashion approach to an organizer clutch, yikes?! trust me it looks great!
From South African jewelry designer, Gillian Julius, are these chic, lightweight wrist candy of braided 100% waxed cotton rope with the look of leather. Trims of sterling silver, gold-plate or pearls complement any of the season’s newest looks. However, now you can actually see and feel her Manhattan Top Handle Bag similar to the bowler bag being carried by Blake Lively. Just make a stop into Rebecca and Drew, close-to-custom clothing store, in River Oaks Shopping Center. They have partnered with Mary to sell this collection up close and personal, in town.

Here is a collection that fits the description of non-IT-bag status but alot of New Yorkers are carrying them or certainly want to, just as if?! Judging from the many comments that I’ve received around town, using my Clara Bag,(featured photo on left), there will be many of the Houston fashion savvy carrying them here as well. What I love is the bags are durable, lightweight, weather-resistant nylon, not unlike the many Prada bags and totes that have endured my many years of abuse and live on just the same! The plus to these wonderful travel-friendly bags is that they are all lined in great HOT FASHION COLORS that make them special…….and did I say how functional they can be? It helps keep me organized with all of its many compartments that are sized perfectly for all my basic needs…..cellphone/blackberry, checkbook, passport, etc.!?!
A special note about these fashion-savvy creators……the collection was founded in 2000 by Monica Zwirner and Lucy Wallace Eustice in NYC. Each of these women had spent many years in the fashion industry. Lucy as Senior Accessory Editor of Harpers Bazaar and Accessory Director of Elle. Monica traveled the world styling advertising and editorial campaigns for leading brands and international magazines. Is there any wonder that these talented women have created the newest hot handbag line?!!!
