I always like to have a seasonal touch base with David Peck to see what he has chosen for his CROP line each time. So I dropped into Tootsies where he was showing his complete line to take a look. For Spring/Summer 2012, his collection titled “Crescent Rising” reflects on a near-by city that is a favorite to visit for so many of us, New Orleans, the Crescent City. His artistic collaboration is with a photographer that is also a familiar face to many of us in Houston, Daniel Ortiz, a native of NOLA. From Daniel’s photos of this rich, colorful city, David has taken and created unique, one-of-a-kind prints such as the bold plumes of birds that decorate Commander’s Palace into a special wallpaper print. Also, the Spanish Moss from the great trees of Audubon Park, the vibrant colors of Mardi Gras and one of my favorite prints…inspired by the inside of a Zapp’s Potato Chip bag done in a bright citrus yellow and grey print.(shown on rack & below) Read the rest of this entry »
