Chic Happening……..In Love With Fashion
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 by RozChic Happening: In Love With Fashion….
Once again, I am telling you about a project that I feel proud to be a part of in however small way that I am (Host Committee). It was conceived by Gracie Cavnar and Jeff Shell, as a perfect union of fashion and dining, called Dress For Dinner.DFD is designed as a series of seasonal fashion events held throughout the year that celebrate the art of dining.
100% of the proceeds from these events benefit Recipe for Success Foundation, founded by Gracie Cavnar. RFS is the forefront of a national movement to combat childhood obesity. This problem, which is reaching epic proportions, has become a focus of First Lady, Michelle Obama, and is a high priority for another cause near and dear to me, the American Heart Association. We must help today’s children learn to eat properly andRFS delivers nutrition education to elementary students in their classrooms. Gracie has been able to accomplish this with the support of 58 of Houston’s finest chefs as her educators.
In Love WithFashion, our second Dress for Dinner event is being sponsored by Tootsies and is another example of pairing our town’s favorite retailers and designers with our most prominent chefs, foodies and winemakers to bring all together to this very special evening.
This event will also feature talented jewelry designer, Joan Horning, who is donating all of her evening’s profits to this charity………plus it’s time to think Spring so there will be a Fashion Show of Tootsies’ best Spring collections!
Soooo, all of this makes for an event not to be missed!
Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Chic Happening……….Go Red Day, Feb. 5, 2010
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 by RozChic Happening……. taking charge of your heart-health is about as Chic as you can be!
So if you woke up this morning wondering just what you can do for yourself and your family and friends that can make a difference….. Here’s a simple little task! You can spread the word that this Friday, February 5, 2010 is National Go Red Day! Ask all those that you live with or work with to wear something RED on this day to make everyone aware that you are shouting out against the #1 killer of American men & women and the #1 killer of women over 25! Decade results are just in and the progress that has been made by AHA in increasing the survival rate is very encouraging. A lot of research advance, etc. can be attributed to that, however, the one thing that we can all do is increase awareness of heart disease and that is what GO RED DAY is all about!!!
Join the celebration, this Friday at Minute Maid Park, 9:30 am……
RSVP to Sherry Woodard at sherry.woodward@heart.org at the American Heart Association if you can make it!
