Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 by Roz Pactor

My favorite dress of the evening, Naomi Watts in Armani Prive pewter beaded one-shoulder creation…not an everybody dress but it definitely worked on her!

Why am I writing even more about an Oscar Night Red Carpet that was less than stellar, particularly since I took part in a web-panel discussion with Clifford at Culture Map that was great fun and I hope you have read, if not, click here.  I guess after so many years it’s just in my DNA that the Oscars create trends, and how can I do what I do without evaluating the take away from that night, however challenging that might be? As we all know the Awards Season has begun and as always is our first indication what designers, stylists and the stars themselves feel are the most important looks that they want to stand for this season. Navy is Back as Fall’s Newest Neutral

Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 by Roz Pactor

Versace Leather Dress; Ippollita Navy Drop Earrings; Christian Louboutin Navy Shoes

Navy for this season is definitely the New Neutral.  Dare I say it’s the new Black? It isn’t, it’s the New Navy and Black is still there as strong as ever. Navy, a personal favorite of mine, will not replace Black in my wardrobe, but will take on a life of its own. In fact, if you really want to show off the return of this favorite color in its newest, most sophisticated way, do as the Europeans began a few seasons back and wear it WITH Black.  It also looks new and fresh popped with the brightness of white or a hot fall hue or wear it mono-chromatically head-to-toe! As a fashion blogger, I was treated to a private one-on-one tour with Saks Galleria Shoe Manager, Ted Davis and a little bubbly, as he filled me in on all of the best that Saks will have to offer this Fall, and the selection was divine.  Going into it knowing what the shoe trend call-outs were for the season, I must say they had them all and from most of the best names in the designer business.  I was there to pick my favorites and to share this preview with my readers. However, I must say, narrowing them down was a challenge and the season is just beginning?! Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion Sneakers…Much Cooler Styles Than They Used to Be!

For quite a long time now, I’ve felt that sneakers were meant solely for physical activity. Put the sneakers on right before the workout and take them off immediately post-workout. While I do feel that certain sneakers are still just meant for the gym, I now can’t help myself but love so many of the fashion sneakers out there today. Throw them on with a pair of skinny jeans, a stylish tee, some fabulous accessories, and off on my Saturday afternoon errands I go. Put a colorful pair on with a cute little workout outfit, and my workout routine is instantly amped up a notch. Gym sneakers have changed, my friends.

There is no quicker, less costly way to jump into the new Season’s buzz, which for 2012 is all about Color, than to start with Accessories.  My personal favorite accessory to step it up a notch is a great pair of Shoes in the boldest hues of the Season. Read the rest of this entry »

Many of us that are long time fans of Miuccia Prada and her brand, have grown to appreciate Miu Miu, as the designer’s more playful side.  Miu Miu, nickname for the designer, is younger, a little edgier and is the place where she is more likely to step out.  It has been said that Ms. Prada herself has been quoted as saying that “she designs Prada and that she dreams Miu Miu.” Read the rest of this entry »
