For those of you that are regulars with me on The Chic Sheet, you know that I have been a follower of Kendra Scott for quite some time. I knew about her collection of color and unique styling early on, but it was not until I spent my two day shopping trip to Austin and visited her SoCo Store that I had a yearning to know more about this talented Texas-born lady. I followed up with a great interview and another story on Kendra and how it all came to be, back in June. So hearing then that a Houston store was on its way, I have been anxiously awaiting its opening, and was especially happy to see that she had planned her first store in “my hood,” the Rice Village, literally walking distance from where I live and work.

Fashion’s Night Out Flashback; My First in the Big Apple…
Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 by Roz PactorThis is Roz and I’m back to the living…..Houston Chic Sheet writing that is! After 10 days in NYC where I attended my first ever Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference (great!), the birth of Lucian, my niece Tina Tyrell and hubby Ethan Pomerance’s bouncing baby boy, who lives in Brooklyn and was the highlight of my trip.(so memorable) I then partied at my first ever Big Apple Fashion’s Night Out,(fun!), attended shows at NY Fashion Week (amazing) and came home to plan, coordinate and fit 35 models for the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Fashion Show with Macy’s and Jos. A. Bank, Women in the Fast Lane, that just happened today(rewarding). Wheeewwww, it’s been a lot but I’m back and ready to share so many of my great experiences (I know this is TMI for most of you, but you know I was raised on Italian guilt and if you haven’t heard from me I just have to tell you why?!).

Handbag Chic: Make It ALL Fit!
Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 by Roz PactorOne thing is for certain, we are all becoming more tech-savvy these days. I mean who doesn’t have an iPhone/Droid or an iPad that goes with them everywhere? So, the question has become how to be tech-savvy and fashion-savvy at the same time. Well, the Handbag industry is responding. Our handbags have always been expected to be the carrier of our everyday products…from makeup to now, our tech devices. As a quote from Vogue stated, “It’s tech-meets-fashion-first: our reliance on an increasingly indispensable piece of hardware is influencing how designers think about the scale and proportions of an accessory we’re calling the iBag.” in their May 2012 issue. Stop In, Must Visit New Henri Bendels….Open One Week!
Monday, July 2nd, 2012 by Roz Pactor
Henri Bendels opened in Houston on June 22nd to the public with a fun party that evening that over 300 attended. However, there was a press review first, where I was fortunate to get to chat with the President of Henri Bendel, Chris Fiore. He’s relatively new to the company, only a year, but comes with tonnage of stores and expansion experience, which will be put to good use when this NYC icon of a store, which opened #23 in Houston, and continues its plan for 100-150 globally. The new Creative Director is Pina Ferlisi who will be responsible for creative, design and artistic direction for the brand. She comes from McQ, Alexander McQueen’s step-down division and has, like Chris, worked for many great branded operations from Coach to Gap, Tommy Hilfiger and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Chris kindly toured me around the store with assistance from Store Manager, Tess Hall. My first question to get the story straight for all of us Houstonians……is it Bendels or Bendels, with an accent on the end? (ok, like San Felipe or San Felipe?). His response was simple, Henri Bendel was not French and as long as he’s been there its been Bendels….simple, no accent on the end! Got it?! Many people have asked me that question. Also some insider tips and also some general Bendels trivia from Chris. They have expansion plans for the U.S. and Canada first, Middle East next, Asia and probably lastly Europe….wants to give them time to get that Euro straight.
Henri Bendel trivia note: That Henri Bendel was the first retailer (they were founded in 1895) to bring Chanel to America, hence you will see a lot of Chanel influences in their products.
