One Night That’s All About Fashion…Houston Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out
Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 by Roz PactorWhat is Fashion’s Night Out? It originated three years ago by Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue Magazine as its own “fashion and shopping stimulus package” to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry’s economy during those recessionary days when many customers were avoiding retail stores in an effort to cut back. Anna’s idea was to celebrate Fashion as a business that brings much joy to all of us, fulfills many of our daily needs, but is most importantly also a major industry in the world that employs a lot of people with many of the same basic needs as its customers. They also needed their fair shake of support or stimulus from those of us that just can’t live without it! Read the rest of this entry »

Giving Back….Tickle Me Pink Ribbon Project
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010 by Roz PactorHow often does it happen. You get a student intern that comes your way and the benefits just keep on coming. That is the case with Zoe Patterson and Pink Ribbon Project. Zoe, once an intern for the non-profit is back for the third year to produce, with her co-chair, Ellen Pellegrin, Tickle Me Pink, a benefit Runway Show at the fab new West Ave. What makes it so special is that the entire show is student produced and the fashions are from the fashionably-gifted young designers from 15 local high schools. If fashion is your scene and you want to show support for some really neat young talent that could be the next Project Runway stars, stop by: Thursday, April 29, 6:00 p.m., West Ave at River Oaks, 2800 Kirby Drive, 77098. Chic Happening……..In Love With Fashion
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 by RozChic Happening: In Love With Fashion….
Once again, I am telling you about a project that I feel proud to be a part of in however small way that I am (Host Committee). It was conceived by Gracie Cavnar and Jeff Shell, as a perfect union of fashion and dining, called Dress For Dinner.DFD is designed as a series of seasonal fashion events held throughout the year that celebrate the art of dining.
100% of the proceeds from these events benefit Recipe for Success Foundation, founded by Gracie Cavnar. RFS is the forefront of a national movement to combat childhood obesity. This problem, which is reaching epic proportions, has become a focus of First Lady, Michelle Obama, and is a high priority for another cause near and dear to me, the American Heart Association. We must help today’s children learn to eat properly andRFS delivers nutrition education to elementary students in their classrooms. Gracie has been able to accomplish this with the support of 58 of Houston’s finest chefs as her educators.
In Love WithFashion, our second Dress for Dinner event is being sponsored by Tootsies and is another example of pairing our town’s favorite retailers and designers with our most prominent chefs, foodies and winemakers to bring all together to this very special evening.
This event will also feature talented jewelry designer, Joan Horning, who is donating all of her evening’s profits to this charity………plus it’s time to think Spring so there will be a Fashion Show of Tootsies’ best Spring collections!
Soooo, all of this makes for an event not to be missed!
Wednesday, February 10, 2010
