Jewel of the Oscars!
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 by Roz Pactor
Were they cabochon or not cabochon (I love this stone both ways), that was the question of the day as the stars showed up in their glamorous gowns and standout accessory…Emerald earrings! They were definitely so much the jewel of choice, no matter what color the celebrity had chosen for their Red Carpet stroll. Some of the most notable were Reese Witherspoon in Neil Lane, Annette Bening in Lorraine Schwartz, Amy Adams in Cartier and Celine Dion who chose to wear her emerald in a large pendant.

Did You Hear About The Morgans
Thursday, December 31st, 2009 by RozSteve’s singing for the Morgans……
In case you haven’t heard…..Steve is singing the lead song in the just released movie,
“Did You Hear About The Morgans” starring Hugh Grant and Sara Jessica Parker.
An awesome fact to know is that the song was written by musical prodigy and son of
the movie’s director, Marc Lawrence. His name is Clyde Lawrence and he is 15 years
old! We saw him perform the song at The Cafe Carlyle recently with Steve and it’s an
amazing collaboration written by an emerging talent.
Steve and Clyde will be on the Today Show with Kathi Lee and Hoda, tomorrow, New Year’s Eve morning. He will be singing “New York is where I live”…….it’s great and available on I-tunes right now!
P.S. Reminder, you can see Steve Tyrell in Houston at the Stafford Centre, January 15 and 16. For details on how to get tickets,

Steve Tyrell Update
Thursday, October 29th, 2009 by RozSteve Tyrell Update………
So, you’ve been asking what my bro has been up to of late…….?!!
First, it’s That Time of the Year again……Steve is readying to open at the Carlyle for his
holiday stint there. He opens on November 10 thru December 31st and they are already
taking reservations for the shows. I’m looking forward to this one myself…….nothing better
than NYC in December and Steve’s shows in that iconic room makes the season bright!!!
(cliche I know, but if you’re headed that way, don’t miss it!)
Then, there is Rod Stewart’s newest CD, just released this week……Soulbook, co-produced by Steve. Rod has never sounded better, the songs are those great ones we all danced to and the guest performances from many of the super-stars of Soul, Mary J Blige, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson make it a collector’s piece as soon as it hit the air-waves.
Last but certainly not least around here, our uber-home-style guru, Bill Stubbs, is back on PBS with his marvelous TV show, Moment of Luxury, airing on Saturday afternoons. In case, you haven’t noticed, that’s Steve singing the title song at the beginning of each show.
When back in Houston area to perform? January 15,16 at the Stafford Centre, great venue with over 1,000 seats…..all great, no bad seats here. When you call the box office to make your reservations for Steve’s performance, please be sure to say that you desire a contribution from each ticket be made to Italian American Sports Association…….Steve would love it!

Chic Happening: Rod Stewart visits H-town
Thursday, July 30th, 2009 by Roz“If ya think he’s sexy”………
he is!
I”m no music critic but I have seen a lot of concerts in my day and don’t think I’ve seen a better show than the one that Rod Stewart and company brought to the Woodlands Pavilion last Friday night.
The onstage presence of this super Rock Star exuded charisma, charm and sexiness that made such a connection with the audience! I know that our group were smitten by watching Rod in action with his super-looker blonde female sax player, beautiful brunette fiddler and rockin’ singers and band. I must mention that as a style-watcher, Rod, in particular, and his band were sooo well put together with every fashion detail from the skinny ties to his gold shoes…..and how cool was he to sport a fashion-right straw cowboy hat just for our towns……Houston, Friday and Dallas, Sunday.
All of this happened because my bro, Steve, who is producing Rod’s newest Standards album, Soul Standards, was working with Rod in Palm Beach until RS had to pull the plugs, literally, to head to Texas for his week-end gig here. Steve, was on the phone to me, arrangements were made for Alan and I, the Mandolas, our favorite social columnist and hubby and Steve’s niece,Tracey Proler to get our “cool” clothes together……it was the Woodlands Pavillion and this is July in Houston, after all!?! We boarded our most fun and well-stocked party bus ever and off we were to meet, greet and swoon over Mr. Stewart. Such a fun night that ended much too soon for us, at the new Bar Annie, where Mimi DelGrande graciously met us after midnight with many great tasties from their new dig, RDG.
Thanks Stevie for making such a great night of memories for all of us!
Note to all.…..many of you heard this, but yes it was Steve’s “The Sunny Side of the Street” that the astronauts chose to wake up to just this Monday a.m……to keep in the know on Steve’s schedule and other “out of this world” happenings and tour dates for him that are coming up, visit www.stevetyrell.com

**next, can’t forget his not-new-this-year-but-great-every-year Holiday CD, THIS TIME OF THE YEAR showcasing his unique approach to songs of the season that you know so well.
