Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 by Roz Pactor

What a delight for us to share a lovely breakfast and have some one-on-one chat time with one of the most creative and delightful women around, the talented London shoe designer, Charlotte Olympia Dellal. She was making her first trip to Texas exclusively for Neiman Marcus to meet her customers and celebrate the launch of her newest Cosmic Collection of Birthday Shoes, richly colored suede flats, and Zodiac Pandora Clutch boxes, each  embellished with enamel and Swarovski crystal zodiac symbols, designed to celebrate the twelve star signs.  Each style comes with a Charlotte Olympia horoscope book to take away any guessing on just what your accessories say about you?!

About Charlotte Olympia: Luxury accessories designer, Charlotte Olympia Dellal launched her London-based shoe brand ‘Charlotte Olympia’ in January of 2008.  Her designs, which have brought this charming female shoe designer in this male-dominated field to the forefront, are known for their classic sophistication and meticulous attention to details.  She has created the brand’s feminine design philosophy that is inspired by the bygone era of old-Hollywood glamour. Added treat,  all of her shoes feature,  on the sole, the iconic web design that is becoming iconic to this designers’ brand logo.  For more info on Charlotte and see so many amazing and very special footwear, visit her site at charlotteolympia.com.

Ippolita Jewelry Collection and Its Creator Committed to Fine Craftsmanship, Beauty and Fashion….

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013 by Roz Pactor

Ippolita Jewelry Collection is being showcased this week at Neiman Marcus with a trunk show and personal appearance by one of the company representatives on April 10th. I’ve always admired this designer jewelry collection as one that I felt to be an original trailblazer.  Through its unique use of stone craftsmanship and signature bangle clusters, it has created a trend, followed by many in the jewelry business.  Ippolita believes in layering her pieces and is considered the first of her trade to take fine jewelry into daytime wear. She created her pieces to be worn for everyday use and to take the wearer from day into night. Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion’s Night Out Flashback; My First in the Big Apple…

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 by Roz Pactor

This is Roz and I’m back to the living…..Houston Chic Sheet writing that is!  After 10 days in NYC where I attended my first ever Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference (great!), the birth of Lucian, my niece Tina Tyrell and hubby Ethan Pomerance’s bouncing baby boy, who lives in Brooklyn and was the highlight of my trip.(so memorable)  I then partied at my first ever Big Apple Fashion’s Night Out,(fun!), attended shows at NY Fashion Week (amazing) and came home to plan, coordinate and fit 35 models for the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Fashion Show with Macy’s and Jos. A. Bank, Women in the Fast Lane, that just happened today(rewarding).  Wheeewwww, it’s been a lot but I’m back and ready to share so many of my great experiences (I know this is TMI for most of you, but you know I was raised on Italian guilt and if you haven’t heard from me I just have to tell you why?!).

Designer #2 at Tootsies…..Kelly Wearstler Debuts Collection at Fresh Faces Runway Show

Tuesday, September 4th, 2012 by Roz Pactor

If you’re not familiar with Kelly Wearstler’s Sportswear Collection, it may be because you haven’t been following the Interior Design scene where she has been a major player for the last 15 years.  In fact, she has had a home design shop on the 7th floor at Bergdorf Goodman’s since 2007, in addition to designing their restaurant.  It was their encouragement for Kelly to expand her talents in accessories first, a natural from home but also into apparel that she launched her first contemporary collection in August of 2011.  As it was obvious that both of her talents were playing well off of each other, Bergdorf’s then established an apparel/accessory shop on BG’s 5th floor.  She has also opened a complete lifestyle store on Melrose in L.A., her home turf.

This talented lady who has always taken much of her inspiration from her love of photography has book author as another title to add to her repertoire of design titles.  In fact, she has a new book, Rhapsody, debuting in October. Read the rest of this entry »

Color, Color, Color….Signature Style of Texas Based Jewelry Designer, Kendra Scott

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012 by Roz Pactor

Last week I was fortunate enough to do something that I have been wanting to do for sometime. I had a chat with Jewelry Designer, Kendra Scott, whose signature colored stone earrings, necklaces and rings have quickly become the jewels of choice on gals of all ages.  Her target audience, says Kendra, “is a personality, not an age, fashion-forward, full-of-life!” Her line is very extensive and does not stop there but it’s these pieces, Danielle earrings particularly, that are showing up on the stylish set everywhere I go!

Kendra, though not a native of Texas by birth, has been here since she was 16 yrs. old and we have definitely staked our claim on her as a designer that we are proud to call our own.  Houston was her first Lone Star home, this Klein High School graduate then moved on to Austin, a natural place for her creative juices to flow, and has been based there ever since. New Store, Major Fashion Award Makes BILLY REID the Hot Spot in Town for Dad’s Day!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2012 by Roz Pactor

I would say that Southern gent, Billy Reid has had a few especially  good weeks of late, partially due to Houston.  First he completes the reopening of his new store to a location and look much more suiting to his style than his former, which he occupied since 2004, when he opened his very first store here in H-town (he now has 7 stores in the U.S., mostly in the South + NYC).  Moments after these festivities were over he heads to NYC where he is awarded the prestigious 2012 Menswear Designer of the Year Award by CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), an award very special as it is one that is awarded by his peers. This follows his receiving the New Menswear Designer of the Year Award and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award from this same group back in 2010. Quite an honor to receive both in the same year!  It was due to his Fashion Fund Award that Billy was invited to be a part of the “American in Paris” initiative in 2011 and asked to present his collection during March 2012 Paris Fashion Week. Mangia! Prints Good Enough to Eat from Dolce & Gabbana

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 by Roz Pactor

National Advertising Campaign image compliments of dolcegabbana.com

Everyone that has followed me at all knows I’m not a big print girl.  Occasionally, I’ll get excited about a great collection of Prints, usually novelty, that I become obsessed with!  Not enough to actually wear them usually, but to follow all season long and now, pin on my Pinterest board, just the same.  Last year it was the fruit prints….Prada’s banana prints that everyone from Anna Wintour to the Red Carpet gals took turns wearing or Stella McCartney and her Citrus prints that appeared in what seemed like orchard quantities in the stores of NYC.  Maybe my obsession is really with food, after all I am Italian, because this year I am crazy for the Dolce & Gabbana Veggie Prints straight from their Mama’s kitchens and all about Italy!

They are just fun…delicious fun! There are the Red Pepper and the Red Tomato prints, and the Eggplant, Red Onion and Zucchini prints, all making bold statements that you have to love. These prints  are available in everything from swim suits, sportswear and dresses, to handbags and scarves.  I even think I would wear them….what would be hauter this season than red pepper printed skinny fancy pants….that’s at least three trends in one garment, right?

Fun handbags and scarfs are also available on Net-a-porter.com.  Dolce & Gabbana are definitely doing prints this season especially made for me…..there is also a peonie print (my second favorite flower next to gardenias)  and a fresh take on animal, both available at www.dolcegabbana.com. Check it out to see it all.

If you enjoy these as much as I do, I recommend that you buy yourself A Piece. They are available for purchase at NeimanMarcus.com and in-store, BergdorfGoodman.com and Net-a-Porter.com.

Enjoy my latest obsessions…….

Need a Lift? La Prairie Can Give You One…in an Instant

Thursday, April 5th, 2012 by Roz Pactor

by Patricia McGill Boland

As we approach the aging process, we come to a point when we look in the mirror and see that gravity has taken a toll on our skin.  It almost seems to happen overnight, doesn’t it?  You wake up one morning, stumble into the bathroom, turn on the light, and then do a double-take into the looking glass.  Who is this person?  She looks like me –only tired and 10 years older.  Lucky for us, there is now an answer for those mornings.
