Gracie Cavnar, founder of Recipe for Success welcomes the 4th annual D4D crowd at Saks
It was a night filled with glam as only Mark Bagdley and James Mischka always bring to town for Saks-Houston Galleria. These guys who have shown their beautiful dresses for so many wonderful charitable causes, were the kick-off designers for the Dress for Dinner Trilogyy of Fashion Events that Gracie Cavnar hosted with her co-chairs, for the fourth annual event. It doesn’t get much better than this year’s event chairs, Ceron and Todd Fiscus, who charmed each and every one of us to attend this year’s opener, which I believe has grown to be the largest one yet.
Over 150 guests joined the Saks team lead by General Manager, Terry Zmyslo, as we mingled on light bites, a fashion runway show of Bagdley Mischka’s Resort and Spring 2013 glamorous gowns, and then a lovely dinner that followed for those special B & M fans that dropped in to show their support.

chatted about being In Houston, which they love. They have such wonderful response here to their gowns….the Houston women love them, and they return the love for our fashion glam ladies and for Saks who they have worked with for so many years here. Their inspiration for Resort was very much built on the Great Gatsby and for Spring, it was A Midsummer Night’s Dream(all that we saw on the runways will be available on the Saks floor in just moments). Their clothes reflect lots of glamour, they don’t bother with wear to work clothes and have what they refer to as Modern Vintage Glamour! They are excited about their New York store opening and combing the country for other locations, which could include Houston??? Maybe?
We had our regular discussion about Rice, which James attended, which is my hood and I’m always amazed that he knows my street (2 blocks from the university). It just adds to the warm personal feeling that I always get from when these fellas come to visit our city……I truly believe them when they say that they like it here!
