For Houston’s Style-setters and Trend followers, this is your time. Fashion Houston 2012 is coming soon to the Wortham Theatre Center and bringing to town a mixture of the most high-profile international designers the event has ever had, with a sprinkling each night of some of our local finest. Jared Lang, founder, president and CEO of Fashion Houston, purposely moved the event this year from October to November 12-15, to allow enough time for designers to recoup from Fashion Weeks around the world and be available for Houstonians to see their fabulous runway shows and meet each designer with their Spring 2013 collections in various stores around the city the following day.
It should be noted that for most of the fashion crowd in town, this is a must-see-and-be-seen-event. However, for the fashion-curious out there that have always wondered what the Fashion Weeks in New York and Europe are all about, here is your chance to gather some of your equally interested buddies and make a night of it and see at least one night of shows. You will be amazed at the high energy and glam each night holds and the show productions are second to none and exciting to watch.
Jared Lang
Fashion Houston is the premiere fashion event in Texas that combines international style with Texas hospitality, which is why so many designers love to come here. Started in 2010 by philanthropist and visionary, Jared Lang, who says about this year’s shows, “After surprising and delighting audiences in Houston for the last two years, we are absolutely thrilled to raise the bar with our stellar 2012 lineup.” Also, a new addition to this year’s planning and production team is Houston’s own fashion fave gal, Jeanne Ruberti who also comments, “The international designer line-up is superb and the collections are a retailer’s dream…light and airy casual wear to beautiful dresses for the ladies who lunch, and include magnificent gowns for the endless number of Spring Galas. It is all so perfect for Houston gals…you won’t want to miss any of the shows.”

On the final evening of the shows, you will be treated to a virtual display of some of the world’s most beautiful gowns, as Fashion Houston honors this year’s recipient of the Fashion Icon Award, Diane Lokey Farb. Diane, who has always been one of the Houston’s premiere style mavens, has chosen many of her most exquisite gowns to be highlighted in the video, premiering Thursday night, November 15th. A sampling of her gowns is also on display throughout Houston Fashion Week at Neiman Marcus, Second Floor Designer Salon.
