This has already become a season where I know that I have been singin’ the blues or at least about the blues, but they have definitely gotten my attention.  First was Navy, which I am passionate about and think it’s just the chicest color out there this season, but as the season is evolving, I am also taken by it’s brighter version of deep, rich blue color and that is COBALT BLUE.

Cobalt, which many people have loved for several seasons back has always been a mainstay color in my home…..I have touches of it everywhere, especially in my kitchen.  I’ve worn it in the past when I believe it was called “Cobalt” and “Royal,” but it only makes sense that it rises again with all of the buzz around the Blue family that is emerging in both fashion and home fashion.

The news here is that having seen the Spring Runway Shows very recently, Blues will be a mainstay in Spring ’13 wardrobes from Navy to bright Cobalt to the icy and soft blues such as Seafoam, Teals, Turquoise, etc.  We should have a very aquatic spring season, so investing now makes sense.

STYLING TIP:  I personally love, but am not limited to, this color as a head-to-toe look.  I think the saturation of the bright deep blue looks great on every skin and/or hair color.  Some say it’s a blonde’s color…well, I’m far from blonde and feel great wearing it and yes, you redheads out there, can add yet another color to your repertoire.

If head-to-toe is too much for you, then pop it through a shoe, a great handbag, a statement necklace or earring or this season’s top apparel add-on pieces, a bright jacket or colored jean. To be the chicest you can be, pop it with NAVY to look newest….will always work with black or color blocked with one of the seasons other new colors like mustard or greens.

Don’t miss out on this great color, says I, the queen of non-color!  I love this and plan on wearing it this season and that’s a huge commitment from me…enjoy!
