One thing Roz and I couldn’t agree more on is our love for leather, especially pants this season. It is absolutely the pant of the upcoming Fall season, and I can hardly wait to wear them when it gets a bit cooler here.
‘Leather is no longer just an outerwear fabrication. It’s as much a fabric used in apparel as wool or silk. For those of us, here in H-town, it is one of the best transition fabrics. You can wear lightweight leather year round (within reason, of course)”, said Roz Pactor. She and I were discussing this trend in detail not so long ago, and I couldn’t be more on the same wavelength. Leather is not just for outerwear jackets. It can be worn in a variety of ways, in a multitude of silhouettes, and I, personally, feel it’s one of the chic-est choices we have.
In terms of color, black is, of course, the leader in the leather arena. However, it does seem color in leather pants is emerging to be huge in the upcoming Fall and Winter months. Jewel tones in a pair of leather pants would be absolutely right-on!
You can pair leather pants with a fabulous silk or chiffon blouse and a perfect pair of pumps, which would be ideal for a special night out on the town.
If going for a more casual look, throw on ballet flats, a great bootie or the newest fashion sneakers with your leather pants. Wear them with a tee with or without a blazer.
If you feel leather is a bit too ‘edgy’ for you, turn it into something more feminine with a floral top and a cardigan.
It seems easiest to run for the pair of pants you’re most comfortable in or a solid pair of jeans, but this season is all about this chic fabrication and I urge you to step outside of the box and try a pair.
There are so many ways to style leather pants and leggings. With your already existing wardrobe, you could have multiple outfits from just adding these great pants into the mix. The look is newest in the slim leg but if that’s not for you a leather trouser also fills the bill just fine. They are in stores now, at all price points and will be going fast, so hurry in soon, as to not be left out in the cold this season!
