Meet Roz

roz

I am a fashion and marketing consultant and blogger based in Houston, Texas.  With more than three decades of experience in fashion retailing that has spanned Foley’s, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s NYC, I have earned a reputation for delivering expertise, energy and enthusiasm to my roster of clients.  I have remained closely connected with designer women’s fashion as well as the misses, teens, men’s and children’s apparel and accessories markets from coast to coast.

My sense of trend direction, merchandising and visual creativity proved to be very valuable in my previous role as Vice President-Fashion Director for Foley’s Dept. Stores, and now in my consulting practice.  You may know me best through my own signature personal fashion statement that has evolved from my many years of wearing RED GLASSES (yes, RED is the only color of specs I own!). The Chic Sheet provides a unique perspective on the world of fashion. It truly represents fashion, as I see it, through MY RED GLASSES!

I have so much fun with The Chic Sheet.  The Houston fashion scene is full of amazing talents, and the opportunity to share insight with my readers gives me great pleasure.  I have thoroughly enjoyed interviewing such fashion luminaries as Catherine Malandrino, Tim Gunn, Ashley Pittman and Phillip Treacy, just to name a few.

My consulting clients vary from large retail establishments to small boutiques for which I provide art direction, styling supervision, merchandising and trend forecasting.  I also provide personal wardrobe consultation and professional shopping services.

I stay on top of the Houston fashion scene, in part, by being an active member in our local branch of Fashion Group International where I serve on the Advisory Council.  Additionally, I conduct Fashion Trend seminars and workshops for various women’s organizations.  My speaking topics include: Proper Dress for the Workplace, Business Casual, what is it?, How Trends Happen? and many more.

In addition to blogging, consulting, and public speaking, I enjoy giving back to the community through a variety of organizations.

American Heart Association Guild
I am currently the President of the American Heart Association Guild, the volunteer and fundraising arm of AHA, where I am pleased to have lead the local organization in its largest annual fundraising campaign.  In my time as President of the AHA Guild, I started the first ever young professionals group, Young at Heart; served on all major AHA committees, including Heart Walk, Heart Ball and the Go Red For Women campaign; and planned and executed the first ever 3rd party Fashion Show/Shopping event benefiting Heart in partnership with Weingarten Realty, River Oaks Shopping Center and Rice Village Arcade.

Bo’s Place Market
I am pleased to have worked closely over the last four years with Bo’s Place, where I have taken responsibility for the selection, coordination and execution of their annual shopping market event, Girls Night Out for Bo’s Place.  My work with Bo’s Place allows me to combine my two great passions: helping people in need and combing the local area for the top fashion designers and boutiques.  Each year we secure more than 30 vendors to participate in Bo’s Place Market, and the event continues to be a great success.
